Presentation of App Smackdown: Duolingo App
Duolingo is a free app where you can learn new languages that offers a variety of interactive lessons and activities to help users learn different languages. It provides courses in over 40 languages. Some of those languages being Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, and so much more! Duolingo uses a very different approach compared to other language apps, where it is almost like you are playing a game! Duolingo, has you completing small lessons every day, earning points, rewards, and achievements. This app tracks your progress and gives you personalized reminders to encourage you to practice the language you are learning. Overall, this app is great for beginners and causal learners.
Although you can use this app on your free time, Duolingo could help you with your coursework and your professional career. Duolingo can help you with your coursework because for example, let's just say you are taking a language class and you are struggling, then you can always download this app and use it on your free time to help improve your learning on the new language. Therefore, Duolingo can help you with your professional career because you are always going to be meeting new people from different parts of the world. Some jobs may require you to have some knowledge on certain languages especially if your job requires you to travel abroad. To continue, Duolingo could help me with my future professional career because I would like to work in law enforcement and in law enforcement you will be meeting a diverse amount of people where you will have to learn a language!

ReplyDeleteI've used your app before and it definitely comes to use when you are trying to learn a new language. It really helps you whenever you are travelling to a different country or communicating with someone who is not familiar with english.

ReplyDeleteI used to use duolingo a lot in secondary school to help make sense of Spanish class! I can not say many apps do what duolingo does better.
ReplyDeleteI have never used Duolingo but I know many people who have. It helped them so much, although it seems a little strange learning a language online the app makes it so easy.
ReplyDeleteI’ve heard of this app, but never got to use it. I see how useful this can be for learning languages. The math and music feature also look interesting, I also like the game like approach it has to learning.
ReplyDeleteI love Duolingo! I have used it to learn some Korean but the owl got angry at me for not doing my everyday lesson. Overall it was very useful and it helped me out a lot.

ReplyDeleteI have used Duolingo since 2014. I currently have a nearly 600 day streak! I love this app because of how simple it is to get your foot in the door to learn another language.
ReplyDeleteI'm personally very familiar with duolingo as my mother works in the school system and has to use it countless times to teach kids throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteAs I have not used duolingo myself, I know friends and family that use it and rave about the app. Your presentation did a great job explaining the benefits and how easy it is to start learning a new language. It is definitely useful for any career if you ever get to the point of being bilingual.

ReplyDeleteDuolingo was my best friend when I needed to learn some Portuguese for a new student who immigrated from Brazil in middle school. Very great tool, especially for those who only know how to speak English.
