Technology Blog #4: Learning to learn and why it applies to my major
In chapter 3 of "Learning to learn and why it applies to my major", it talks about how when we are learning that we should rethink how we approach our learning. Having different approaches to learning it can help improve your learning and understanding. In the chapter it exemplifies how having different approaches of learning and understanding them helps people grow and to change their way of thinking. Therefore, in the chapter it describes an example first that we should look at the solution first then the problem. In this chapter it truly explains how learning is important and it is a process that shows us what we know or do not know. To continue, this chapter can relate immensely to my potential career in the investigative/policing field. In the line of work I am interested in, it is always important to understand your approaches of learning because you are going to be in situations where you are going to have to change your way of thinking, so...
The topic you choose was definitely a crazy but common situation you just don’t really always see it to this certain magnitude. I did like how you talked about what you would do in particular if in her shoes.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don’t know who Roseanne Barr is, but being under the influence does not justify making racist comments. Many people believe the saying, “drunk thoughts are sober thoughts,” and in this case, it really seems to apply. Even if someone is impaired, it doesn’t excuse offensive behavior, especially when you're in the public eye. People in the spotlight have a responsibility to be mindful of what they say because their words can hurt others and damage their careers. It's important to be held accountable, regardless of the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteHaving not heard about this prior, I don't see how someone can make those comments even under the influence. There is a certain amount of control that one must have even under the influence, there are some things you just don't say and the tweet she had is one of those things. Just because you don't believe someone should be there does not mean you can degrade them in that manner.
ReplyDeleteYour project highlights very effectively the significance of digital literacy and the role of connected learning in fostering responsible use of social media. It is particularly insightful to see how these two concepts can be integrated to lead to more mindful interactions online.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely important to understand why saying something on the internet could be harmful towards others. It's crazy to tweet something like that under the influence and obviously should have never happened. I also do think that some people still should have self control even when drunk, maybe not always but to just tweet this on a whim is absurd. She definitely should have thought about it before posting it.
